Live Aid, to niezapomniane wydarzenie, odbyło się równocześnie w Londynie i Filadelfii 13 lipca 1985 roku, a występy obejrzało na świecie 1.5 miliarda telewidzów. Dzięki koncertowi zebrano ponad $140 mln na rzecz walki z głodem w Afryce. Live Aid uznano za drugie pod względem rangi wydarzenie w historii dwóch ostatnich pokoleń. W badaniu opinii społecznej z 2004 r., koncert określono najwspanialszym momentem w 50-letniej historii rock'n'rolla. Tym samym Live Aid wyprzedził popularnością powstanie MTV, pierwsze nagrania Elvisa oraz festiwal Woodstock.
