Position: Communication Officer Poland
Employer: Rewilding Oder Delta e.V. (Poland and Germany)

Employment Contract (0,5 - 1 FTE) – 2 years with 6-month trial period

The transboundary Oder Delta landscape, in Germany and Poland , is one of the Rewilding Landscapes
of Rewilding Europe. As an independent non-profit association, Rewilding Oder Delta (ROD) works to
achieve its own rewilding vision for the landscape. As part of the Rewilding Europe Network with 10
other landscapes it is contributing to a broader vision of Europe as a place where wilder nature is
valued and treated as crucial for a prosperous and healthy society.
Position summary
In order to strengthen local visibility of the Oder Delta in Poland and Germany, build engagement with
key stakeholders, and promote public understanding and support for rewilding efforts on local,
national, and international levels, we are looking for a Communication Officer, who is located in the
area. You will manage strategic communications and operational tasks, delivering inspiring, positive,
and engaging content across various platforms. The role involves close collaboration with the
rewilding landscape team, Rewilding Europe’s Central Team, and communication colleagues in other
landscapes.
Main role and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Communications Officer include:
• Together with the Management Team you develop and implement the communications strategy
for ROD and create annual actions plans to support the work of our field teams.
• You create content for the ROD website and use different tools and media channels to support
team members in external communication and ensure proper media coverage of new and
ongoing activities
• Build and maintain relationships with local partners, stakeholders, and media to foster a
supportive policy and economic environment for rewilding.
As part of the Nature for People team you will also ensure synergies with the Communication teams of
the Rewilding Europe Central Office based in Nijmegen, Netherlands and colleagues in other rewilding
areas.
The position is very operational and results oriented and requires the ability to create media content
around all rewilding topics relevant for ROD.

The key responsibility for you is to create high quality, engaging content to promote the Oder Delta as
a top transboundary rewilding area and sustainable nature tourism destination.
Main activities:
Strategic
• Developing and implementing the communication strategy for the Oder Delta landscape, in close
cooperation with the team and the Rewilding Europe Central Team;
• Planning and organising communication/ promotion/ media events at transnational
(Germany/Poland) levels;
• Active participation in planning and budgeting for communication, promotion and outreach of the
Oder Delta rewilding area
Operational
• Creation of print materials like posters, fact sheets, flyers, press releases to reach a diverse
audience.
• Shared responsibility for the content of the ROD website (www.rewilding-oder-delta.com) and for
ROD Social Media Channels with Communication Officer on German side
• Ensure regular exchange and content sharing between other rewilding areas and the central team
with focus on sharing web content for blogs and news
• Explore new media opportunities for ROD in social media
• Support other team members with communication needs, including presentations, events, and
stakeholder engagement.
Working relationships
• Internal: Works closely with German Communication Officer, and Rewilding Europe’s central team,
works with and reports to Head of Nature for People.
• External: Interacts and builds positive relationships with a variety of local stakeholders and
partners, such as government institutions, local authorities and media, i.e. press.
Profile
• Higher educational degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field
with strong focus on graphic and media design
• Excellent creative writing skills in Polish and English; German writing skills are a bonus
• Proficiency in digital tools, including social media management platforms and content
management systems (e.g. WordPress)
• Digital native with strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (photo, video, layout creation & editing)
• At least 3 years of experience in strategic and operational communication
• Ideally experience in nature conservation, ecology
• Creative, proactive, and able to work independently
• Strong social skills and experience communicating at various levels (national and local)
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences (environmental, business, tourism, general public)

• Team player with a proactive attitude and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of the Oder Delta region is an asset
