Opis
We are currently seeking skilled Heavy Duty Mechanics to support mining operations in Canada's North. This is a rotational, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) position in remote locations, working on both surface and underground mining equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnostics, inspections, maintenance, and repairs of a wide range of heavy equipment. If you are experienced, safety-oriented, and looking for a rewarding opportunity in the mining sector, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on surface mining equipment, including:
Electric rope shovels (e.g., P&H 4100XPC, CAT 7495)
Hydraulic shovels/excavators (e.g., CAT 6060, Hitachi EX8000)
Ultra-class haul trucks (e.g., CAT 797F, Komatsu 980E, BelAZ 75710)
Dozers, graders, wheel loaders, and drill rigs
Maintain and repair underground mining equipment:
LHD loaders (e.g., Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc)
Underground haul trucks (e.g., CAT AD63, Sandvik TH663i)
Production and development drills, bolters, shotcrete machines
Utility/service vehicles, scissor lifts, ventilation systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including high-voltage and intrinsically safe underground systems
Conduct equipment inspections, document repairs, and complete service reports in accordance with environmental and safety standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electricians, welders, operators) to minimize equipment downtime
Follow all occupational health & safety procedures on-site, including ROPS/FOPS equipment and fire suppression systems
Requirements
Journeyperson Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred)
3–5+ years of relevant experience in mining, heavy industry, or remote worksites
Proven expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and diagnostics
Familiarity with both surface and underground mining-class equipment
Willingness and ability to work in remote northern locations on a FIFO schedule
Strong safety orientation, familiar with MSHA, OH&S, or equivalent standards
Team player with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of working independently in challenging conditions
