This quality DC motor with optical encoder is top of the line. Little is known as no markings can be found on the motor assembly besides the Buhler logo. It is believed to be a 24V DC motor. It has an HP / Agilent optical encoder which looks compatible with the 9700 series of encoders. It was impossible to find information on the Q9898 part. The optical encoder is believed to be a 2 phase encoder with the capability to determine the direction of the motor by comparing the phase of the square waves. They have a cog on the shaft. These optically encoded motors are truely gems when coupled with the proper controlling circuitry. Two wires are for motor power and 4 wires are for optical encoder (GND VCC Phase A Phase B). This is consistant with other Buehler parts.
