Opis
Jack Vance – Madouc
Step into a world of ancient forests, forgotten magic, and courtly intrigue in Madouc, the mesmerizing final volume of the celebrated Lyonesse Trilogy by the legendary master of fantasy, Jack Vance.
Set in the mythical Elder Isles, this richly imagined novel tells the story of Madouc, a spirited young princess raised in the shadowed court of King Casmir. Officially acknowledged as the king’s daughter yet never fully accepted, Madouc grows up surrounded by whispers, secrets, and quiet hostility. When her true parentage becomes a matter of political maneuvering and personal identity, she embarks on a journey that will shape not only her destiny but the fate of kingdoms.
Vance’s prose is elegant, witty, and razor-sharp. The novel blends high fantasy with subtle satire, weaving together elements of folklore, chivalric romance, and political drama. Enchanted realms coexist with ruthless ambition; magical beings cross paths with scheming courtiers; and beneath the splendor of royal ceremony lies a world of betrayal, pride, and longing.
Madouc is more than a tale of magic — it is a story about identity, belonging, resilience, and the courage to claim one’s own name in a world determined to define it for you.
A must-have for collectors of classic fantasy, admirers of intricate world-building, and readers who appreciate intelligent, beautifully crafted storytelling.
